Qn : What Happens To Our Identity After Death?
Ans : There are varied and different religious views on this. According to the Atheist viewpoint the identity of a human being completely ceases to exist after death. Everything comes to an end as he dies and vanishes into the blackness of universe. The Animistic view says that after death, the soul or identity of the deceased man wander in eternal darkness in the realm of shadows or the underworld, without any joy or sorrow.
However the modern religious viewpoint has been the most acceptable in defining the concept of our identity after death. According to it, nothing ceases to be after death and thus there is nothing called the end and the beginning. The life is a vicious circle of mysticism and our soul identity in this context is immortal. It is a part of God that is sent to earth wearing a cloak of another body to acquire its share of lesson and wisdom. Once our purpose of life is over, the soul has to return to the source from which it came, till it again needs an astrological rebirth on this earth for some unfulfilled reason. Thus, the Karma we do, would decide our life and our identity after life and also, the rebirth.
